The NeHII exchange continues to grow as more physicians learn about the benefits of NeHII. Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, the first hospital to implement NeHII since the completion of the pilot, continues on schedule. NeHII is actively pursuing the HIE federal stimulus funding. The invitation to apply for the HIE funding was announced on August 20th. In order to apply for implementation funding, a state strategic plan, a state operational plan and the application itself must be completed. The initial release of funds is scheduled for the first quarter of 2010. The Axolotl Customers' Conference will be September 9-11. NeHII will be participating in numerous panel discussions including stimulus fundin and start-up operational support for a Health Information Exchange. In addition, Deb Bass will present a session on Patient Consent & Consumer Education in Nebraska. As word of the statewide rollout spreads, a significant number of physicians, hospitals and healthcare entities continue to approach NeHII with inquiries and requests to be added to the exchange. To enable their participation, NeHII continues to define models of access to enable organizations to benefit from the increased efficiencies and quality of care afforded by statewide health information exchange. If you are contacted by interested parties, Deb Bass and Chris Henkenius are available to present information about NeHII as needed. Deb or Chris may be contacted at 402.346.1505. |
