NeHII Sponors PDMP CEU Program

Alegent Health, COPIC and NeHII will be sponsoring a PDMP CEU program on October 8th, 2012 at the McAuley Center on Alegent Health's campus.  The PDMP CEU program's goal is to provide physicians with tools to identify and manage potential drug seekers in the clinic and ED settings.  The program objectives are:

• Educate providers about the drug seeking community from both the addicted individuals to the distributors perspectives

• Create awareness of legal aspects of the problem from denial of care to potential fraudulent prescribing activities

• Educate providers about the use of technical applications using health information exchange via NeHII to obtain more complete medication histories

• Share messaging techniques for those individuals that have opted out of NeHII that are tailored to the particular settings (ED vs. Ambulatory) to manage the potential drug seeker efficiently and effectively

• Outline processes to discourage drug seekers to seek care at your particular facility
